Spreading the News

Ok, back to the baby book. I really like this layout. This paper was new and I love it! I have finally used my chipboard letters and I really like using them. They are very easy to paint. I painted them white then red, sanding a little to show some white & then splattered a little black paint on them to sortof resemble the red paper I used. I also sewed around the edged of the patterned paper. I used a few silver brads and some wire to connect the 2 family shots together on the 1st page.

Santa - Christmas 2004

I didn't have any baby pictures printed, so I went to this photo to scrapbook. This one was a tough one for me. The photo is really bad quality (and probably cost us $15 bucks to have!). I'm trying to use supplies that I already have so I had a hard time picking out papers. I went back to this page a few times adding things before I was ready to say that I was finished.
I added the stamped poinsettias to the background and the red ribbon below the picture for some more texture. The Santa Title I printed on cardstock and cut out using my handy craft knive. I couldn't scrapbook without that thing!

Baby Shower #3

Baby Shower #3! Yes, we were blessed with baby showers!! Only thing that I wish I had gotten was a supply of diapers for 2+ years!! The ladies at my previous job gave me this shower. I still keep in touch with them via email and lunches every so often.
I love how this page turned out. I think I'm really into the blue/pink combo and I'm really diggin circles too. The little baby hanging from the umbrella was actually cut out of one of the cards they gave me at this shower. It looks great on the page!!
Pictured from left to Right:
Jennifer D (who didn't work there that long), me, Linda, Kris, Charlene, Wendy, Barb & Kelli.

Baby Shower # 2

I ventured away from pinks again with this page. All because I wanted to use these stickers and the greens went really good with the photos too. Everyone except me is in their work attire which consists of black and tan. This was the Word Alive shower that they gave us at Church. The two photos on the 2nd page, top right, I almost didn't put in. But I thought, this is us and our friends. As goofy as we are, I wanted Cailey to look back on these pictures and see that her parents really did have a sense of humor. Nothing specatular on these pages, just a silk yellow flower to bring some more color to the page. However it does look funny looking on this page as it scanned weird.

A Room For Baby

These pages didn't scan that good. I even cut off the top of the first page.
The scripture under her crib picture & the saying on the 2nd page (top) were cut out of baby shower cards that I received. I did a little sewing on these pages and used my favorite things; ribbon, buttons & my flower brads. The A in baby (title) is a button.

Cailey's DollHouse

As you can see, this is a page on the Dollhouse bookshelf that my dad made for Cailey. Included is the actual drawn plan that he drew up. As he just copied the bookshelf from a Pottery Barn Kid catalog. This thing was priced at $349, on sale! Ouch! Good thing I got it for Free! ;)
Thanks again Dad for the Dollhouse for Cailey!

Getting Ready For Cailey

I'm finally posting some new pages. This one is just really simple.

Here's the Journaling:
Your PawPaw & Nonna came and helped us paint your room.
Your PawPaw also refurbished a dresser that was my MawMaw's.
Daddy put together your crib that I ordered from JCPenny's. We
even had a wreath made from all the bows from the baby showers
to hang on the hospital door when you arrive! This was all in addition
to many other things.

Ultrasounds'

I'm finally getting started in Cailey's Baby book. I'm starting on the ones that I have the most printed. It was fun to do a page that wasn't a pink overload! Getting a little tired of pinks & yellow's. And I originally was going to do a girly page, but I came across the "Ultrasound" & "Baby Under Construction" stickers that I have had forever! So I used the green colors.
I think I went a little sticker crazy on this one. I had so much that I wanted to use and just went at it. Which was fun that I wasn't all anal about it. On the 2nd page, top right ultrasound, these are a few ultrasounds that I put in album sheets to flip. Had multiple photos from this ultrasound. These pages didn't scan all that great.

Me & Nonna

I'm excited to be venturing to the multitudes of pictures that are piling up. I love this picture of Cailey & her Nonna. My mom was watching cailey for me at my house while I did some cleanning up when I captured this picture (Jan '05). I had this picture printed and framed and gave to my mom for Mother's Day '05. So I had an extra 5x7 already handy. Therefore, that's why it was the first one to be scrapped. I still have to print the majority of my photos.

I really like this page. It was fun to do. Especially the sewing around the egde of the Background flower. I love using my sewing machine. It's a quick, fun & easy way to crank up my pages a notch. Makes them look more like the ones you see in the idea magazines.

Cailey turns 2

Here are some of Cailey's 2 year Proffessional photos. She had a few others, but I'm not going to scrapbook them. I mean it! Believe it or not, this page gets me completely caught up with scrapbooking her Proffessional photos.
This is now my new favorite page. I did some neat things with this one.
Round portion in the corner: The tabs with her name, I drybrushed the blue paper with some white paint, placed my silver metallic alph. stickers and then brushed decoupage medium over it giving them a glossy look. Plus I sewed zigzag stitch giving the look that the Striped & pink paper/tabs are sewn together.
I also distressed all of the paper with sandpaper. Looks cool.
And of course my usual ribbon finished it off.

Jouraling from page:
"You have grown into a beautiful Little girl! You are talking up a storm and you pick up new things every day! In this picture it looks as though you posed perfectly for the camera. We were lucky that they took the picture right as you were bringing you hands down. It just looks as though you are Miss Picture Queen."

Christmas 2005 - page 2

Here is the last Christmas '05 picture that I'm scrapping. Just a very simple page. However, it took me forever to decide what to do on this one. (Hhmmm...that sentence sounds very familiar)
Anyway, I was going to do a lot more with it, but after adding the picture, ribbon and brass charms (Are actually embossing stencils that I got on clearance at Walmart), I didn't really want to go any further with it. I didn't want anything to draw attention away from her face.

Christmas 2005

Here's a layout on some of her Christmas '05 pictures. I have one more page to do, but I'm doing it in another color scheme since the photos were so different. This one came out pretty quick and better than expected. I created 2 little ribbon snowflake accents with silver brads. I had purchased the snow tag many years ago and was happy to finally use it.

Craft Project

Well, I took a break from scrapbooking to do a little project. I was about to scrapbook this picture, but remembered something that I had gotten at Walmart on clearance after Christmas last year. I thought that this picture would be perfect to use. The kit included the box, letters & 2 small dowels all unfinished. And I painted, added some pearlized paper in the inside, painted the letters and added a powder dust glitter to the tops and then beaded some accents and a few blue feathers. It was Richard's idea to do a halo above the letters. I was already planning on beading the star and thought it would be great to bead a halo that matched. So thank you richard for that idea! I love how it turned out. I'm going to sit it on a shelf in Cailey's room. The up close picture is just to show the glitter letters a little better.
By the way, this picture was one of Cailey's 2 month photos.

More 2 Month Photos

Here's my latest page. I handstitched around the vellum quote. That's my favorite part. If you've already seen this page I mentioned that I handwritten some things that I didn't like. Well, I've fixed that problem. Here's the revised page.

Journaling under left picture:
Cailey, your Nonna made this quilt for your mommy when she was a baby.
You are also wearing one of my baby dresses. All Nostalgic!

Journaling under right picture:
I absolutely Love the look on your face in this picture. You are my Precious angel!

Cutie Patootie - 2 Month Photo

I like this page. It came together very quickly since the papers had matching stickers. That makes it so much easier! I did cut the stems/leaves out of patterned green paper with my wavy scissors.

The Fairest One of All

This is Cailey's 1st Halloween outfit. October 2004. I don't like this page at all and it looks even worse scanned. But maybe it will grow on me. I would leave and go back to this page multiple times and just finally put something together. Atleast it's finished!

Olan Mills Christmas 2005 Photos

Here's another layout of Christmas '05 pictures. These were taken at Olan Mills (The other's were done at Sears). I'm not too sure of what I think of these pages. I sortof just quickly did them. However I am glad that I used some patterned background paper that I've had for many, many years!! On the bottom of the first page, the glass tile cannot be read in the picture. It says First Christmas. The side edges, behind the holly, it's actually a metallic gold. Looks sortof weird on here. Sorry!!

Cailey - 1 month old - Bow Picture

This is the First page of Cailey's Album of Proffessional Photos. It was nice to get it done. I knew what I wanted to do with this page, keep it simple and let the photo and the poem (written by Richard) speak for itself. Some people might remember this poem. Richard wrote, designed, and framed it and gave it to me at the baby shower.

You can read the poem in the actual framed picture. But here it is too:
For Cailey
By Daddy
God is a painter, painting dreams come true
He painted Mommy and Daddy and the Kitty Cats, too.
But He looked at His painting and said, "It's not through!"
"I need to add something..."God said, "Something new!"
"Aha!" He said, "I know jus twhat to do!"
So He picked up His brush - and painted us -
With you!

Out to the side of the poem it just says:
Cailey Anne White

Bright Eyes - Easter 2005

I really like how these pages turned out. These are probably my favorite pages so far. I got to use my sewing machine, plus added ribbon of course and buttons, and there's even a safety pin on the right page. My scan cut off some of the top. Since you can't read the journaling on the right page, here it is
"I adore these pictures of you, Cailey. This was when you were first beginning to stand. Seeing your little pudgy legs and the little pink bloomers peakin gout from beneath your Easter dress was so cute!"..."Easter - March 2005"

Christmas 2004

Here's another 2 page spread! I'm on a roll!! She's 6 months here. One of the little tags on the 2nd page says it, but you can't read it well with the charm in the way. And speaking of which, the charms were from an old Christmas bracelet that broke. I'm so thrifty. =)

Mother & Baby

I am finaly back into scrapbooking. Most of our time has been spent on working on the bathroom and also birthday parties so now that they are finished I can get back into my hobby. Here's a 2 page spread of some pictures that have taken me forever to scrapbook. I've stopped and started on these many times and I finally just threw them onto a page to get them finished! So I'm glad they are done! The photos look a little crooked. Oh well! The glass tiles on the 1st page, top left, say sweet baby. (Don't forget to click on them to enlarge)

Cailey anne - 1yr cont.

Here is the last page with Cailey's 1 year photos. I'm trying to keep the pages with the proffessional pictures simple. I really liked how this page turned out. Even though it's simple and took me just a few minutes to put together. Those I like! Richard helped me scan in this one and fix it in photoshop. When I get a chance I will scan in the previous layouts so they will look much better!!

Little Angel

This picture was taken along with her one year photo. I've got one more page of 1yr shots to do. It's next and I should get it finished this week. This one only took me maybe 30 minutes. Once I finally got some more black cardstock I was able to do it. Again, I'm really going to have to scan my pages cause these photos do not show the details very well.

First Birthday- June 4, 2004

This page completed just 3 weeks away from her 2nd b-day. Sad. The pictures of these pages aren't very good. I'd scan them, but do not want to take the time to stitch them together. Hopefully I'll get better at getting them on here cause they really don't do the page justice.

Round'n-Up the Cute Stuff - Halloween 2005

My pages are not done in chronological order as you can see. I work on whichever photos that I feel like. I still have a lot more pages to do before I will get to the skill level that I want to be at. There are tons of techniques that I want to try. But enjoy watching me grow, hopefully!

Cailey - 1 month old

This is the page that I did months after Cailey was born. This was the first and only page that I created until just a few days ago!! I know, I'm ashamed of myself for getting so far behind. I am going to get her Proffessional pictures scrapbooked before I tackle the thousands of digital photos that I have!! It's not the greatest page, but it's done isn't it! FYI- The pink Gingham on the edges is the cover of the album. Not a part of the page.

Me & Scrapbooking

I started scrapbooking maybe 7 or 8 years ago. My sister, Jennifer, went to one of those scrapbooking parties at someone's home and therefor introduced my mother and myself into the world of Scrapbooking. I've really only created 2 albums so far. My wedding album and one for 2001. I am a slow scrapper. I work on one layout for days. I have to leave it and come back to it with new inspirations. And I'm never happy with it! I want it to be perfect and my biggest problem is my thoughts are always "What if there's a new embellishment or paper out there that would make it look just right". So I'm always delaying on working on something just so I can look at new items. You could probably call me a scrapbook supply collector instead of a scrapbooker!! Richard & I have moved 3 times so I've never had a designated scrapbook area and I always hated getting it out and making a mess in the living room so I rarely scrapbooked. I would in just spurts.
So when I had Cailey my scrapbooking was at a standstill. I didn't have a place for all of my stuff since my craft room was turned into the nursery. I finally did 1 page of her 1 month proffessional pictures. I did that on my dining room table while at home during my lunch breaks when I still worked. And that was it!! Again, back to my problem of afraid of not having the perfect accents and wanting her baby album to be perfect!!! And also not wanting to pull out a big mess on top of the mess that's already there!
Well, jan/feb 2006 we decided to convert the garage (Not totally converted), into a craft studio & Playroom. We are still working on it, but the main stuff is there and all my supplies are organized and cailey has a tv/dvd and tons of toys out there to play with. I've really enjoyed having the space! It's the first time I've been able to have my stuff out and viewable and it makes everything so much easier. Cailey is getting where she will play by herself or watch a video without me right with her playing or her sitting on my lap while she watches tv. I'm just so excited that I'm able to really start back creating! I've really missed it. But I completed my first layout in over a year today (5-3-06) and so I started this blog for me to post my creations and also to give me an incentive boost to get layouts done so I can post them! As I know my other blog has made me take more pictures. I have a lot of catching up to do so hopefully I'll have a few layouts to post each week (if I'm lucky!).
