Goodbye Pacy
Look below for the journaling so you don't have to try straining to read it in the photo.
Yes, you read correctly! Pacy is so long!!!! Finally! Cailey tossed her pacy Feb 13th, after it had been chewed to pieces. Of course I wanted this captured and to tell the story of pacy. Or atleast some of it. But I love this blown up picture of pacy. Cailey threw it away and I got it out of the trash can to take a picture of it, but I still haven't brought myself to throw it away yet. So it's hidden away. The picture on the top of the page, I tinted the green one in her hand, but didn't realize it until I picked up the pictures that she had another pacy in the other hand!! So I added some circles around them to accentuate those pacy's. Sorry that my scan is so crappy!!
Like I mentioned in a previous post, I'm trying to scrapbook differently. I want to scrapbook not only pictures, but stories! I believe that is the most important part of scrapbooking is telling your story. No matter what it is. Some things are nice to be remembered. So I'm really trying to recall the stories I want to tell and get those scrapbooked instead of just trying to get "caught up" on all these photos. So you will be seeing more current pictures scrapbooked (hopefully).
Journaling:
Pink pacy, along with the occasional blue & green ones, has been with you from the get go. No telling how many of these things we had to buy, but they made you so happy. We, well mostly me, had been dreading having to break you from pacy. If it was just up to me I probably would have let you have it until you were 3 (which was quickly drawing near). I believe you would have tossed it on your own. And I'll admit I wasn't looking forward to the not so great nights with you without it. Thankfully, Richard was very adamant about getting rid of it. We started in December '06 only letting you have pacy for naps & bedtime. Of course me being me you would get it a good bit off of the counter while Daddy was at work & I'd let you have it for a bit. But you had gotten so use to us putting it up that when you woke up you would hand it to us & say "Don't need it". You also got into the habit of chewing pacy and in January you gave it a new name, Paapaa. So we just let you chew away & never replaced it. However, every time we drove by Walgreens you would saw "get new ones". You were down to one pacy & you chewed a great big hole in it with a piece dangling. At that point I cut off the tip. Your fondness of pacy quickly lessened & you mainly just held onto it while drifting off. A few times you told me to put it up on the nightstand. Tuesday night, Feb 13th while I was taking a shower, you told Daddy that you didn't need it & "had nough". So daddy told you to go throw it away and you did! When I got out & Richard told me my reaction "I've got to take a picture of it first!". Cailey, you have done so good with this transaction away from your long time friend, pink pacy. It take you a bit longer for you to calm down & go to bed, but you haven't asked for it one bit! You are such a big girl!
Christmas Cards 2006
Ever wonder what people do with the photo Christmas cards that you send out? Well here's what a scrapbooker does with them (that is when they finally get around to it).
I guess I wanted to cram all my pictures on one page. I'm bad about that. But thought I'd make it look like they were push pinned on a board or something. So I used brads to give it that look. And I just cut out the names that were printed on the cards and put them on the picture. Easy enough! And yes, I put Cailey's picture from our card too.
